New digital sales support tools underline Company’s innovation leadership
Trina Solar Limited (NYSE: TSL) (“Trina Solar” or the “Company”), a global leader in photovoltaic (“PV”) modules, solutions and services, will be introducing its latest products and innovative tools at this year’s Solar Energy UK exhibition. On 13th-15th October 2015 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the Company will present its high-performance modules, specifically suited for the UK market and climate conditions. New sales support tools include Trina Solar’s Augmented Reality (AR) product presentation and a Virtual Reality tour of the Trina Solar headquarters in China. The Company will also be offering practical advice, guidance and insight on the solar PV industry.
Trina Solar’s UK sales team will introduce the Company’s latest product features such as the new high efficiency Honey Plus and Honey M Plus series, as well as full black modules and the integrated Trinasmart solution, all designed for maximising energy harvest from any rooftop.
Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the groundbreaking technologies that Trina Solar develops, through an award-winning virtual tour of the Company’s integrated campus in Changzhou, China. Using the latest in virtual reality (VR) technology, the eight-minute tour transports participants 8,000 miles and takes them on an immersive visit, including manufacturing lines and the renowned State Key Laboratory for Photovoltaics. The result is a fascinating look into the inner workings of Trina Solar and what makes the Company unique.
As an innovation leader, Trina Solar employs state-of-the-art Augmented Reality technology to show its high-quality products in action. Designed for iOS devices, the application revolutionises the sales process by merging the real world with digitally-enabled content: by holding the device in front of real-world buildings or rooftop models, the application displays an instant, digital model of a commercial or residential rooftop PV installation. The presenter can pick the most suitable product for the application in question and then populate the available space. The software also simulates how the product will perform in different weather conditions. Demonstration of the app’s beta version at the event will use miniature models, which will enable attendees to see the application in full flow.
Richard Rushin, head of Trina Solar’s UK sales team and Board Member of the STA, said: “The Solar Energy UK exhibition will be an excellent opportunity for us to introduce our latest innovations to the UK market. This process will be enhanced by our Augmented Reality application and virtual reality tour, both of which serve to make the research and buying process easier for both our B2B and end-user customers, and are indicative of the value we place on the use of technology and the provision of high-quality, sustainable products.
“With solar energy uptake in the UK growing rapidly in 2015, we consider this year’s exhibition to be a hugely important occasion. Regardless of what is set to happen to FIT and ROC subsidies, solar energy has a bright future in this country, reflected in how eager companies and individuals are to embrace it. We believe our cutting-edge products to be ideally suited to the UK market, and look forward to discussing the future of the industry at the event.”
